Community Research Projects

Dr. Ken Oakes from CBU worked with Don Crosby and the Bras D’or Lakes Biosphere Reserve Association to research Climate Change Adaptation practices across Canada during their hosting of the Canadian Biosphere Reserve Forum in Baddeck.

New Dawn Meals on Wheels, led by Erika Shea, is partnering with Beth Mason at Cape Breton University to assess possible gaps in nutritional needs of seniors receiving meals through the Meals on Wheels program, and to develop a plan for addressing those gaps through locally grown crops at the Cape Breton University greenhouse.
