Resilience in the Hispanic Community in Atlantic Canada: Creative Writing Workshops During the Pandemic
Latispanica Cultural Association members will get to explore their experiences with the recent pandemic through the lens of creative writing with Dr. Andres Arteaga, Saint Mary’s University.

There is a strong need within the Hispanic community in Atlantic Canada to symbolize some of the loses and challenges during the COVID19 pandemic. Cultural projects such as creative writing workshops provide a unique opportunity to rebuild community strength and resilience.
Through this project a series of creative writing sessions will be offered to community members that will provide the necessary tools for some of those COVID-19 experiences to become short stories and poems. Those works will become part of a larger interactive website. Several University students majoring in Spanish will also be offered a unique opportunity to work with Latispanica Cultural Association, helping organize the workshops, proof reading, editing and translating some of the texts.
